5 Necessary Hair Care Tips

Hair is an important part of your overall personality and thus hair care is an important part of your beauty regime as well. Though it is important to take care of your beautiful tresses you don’t need to spend too much money or time in taking care of them if you follow some simple tips.

Tip 1: Make hair oil your best friend

Applying oil can be a time consuming process and at times a little messy but a good hair oil massage stimulates blood supply to those stressed tresses. You can choose from a lot of options- almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil even our very own mustard oil. This is one of the best hair care tips ever.

Tip 2: Say no to heat

Heat styling tends to deprive your hair from all the moisture and shine. So it is better to avoid blow drying, straightening and curling as much as possible. On occasions where you do want to style your hair, use a heat protecting balm or conditioner to reduce the damage.

Tip 3: Cold water is your best friend

Just like we use warm water to open the pores of our face and cold to close them, the same concept applies to our hair as well. Never pour hot water on your hair as it gets rid of the natural oil that the hair has. Use lukewarm water for your first rinse, shampoo and condition your hair as usual and then use cold water for your last rinse. This is among the good hair care tips that everyone should follow.

Tip 4: Rubbing your hair with towel is a big no

Rubbing your wet hair with towel causes them to break.  Wet hair is prone to breakage so handle them very carefully to avoid unnecessary hair loss. Always wrap your hair gently in a towel and let it absorb some of the moisture. Doing this also avoids occurrence of split ends.

Tip 5: Say goodbye to hair brush and hello to comb

To avoid breakage and static in your hair, instead of using a brush use a wide toothed comb to de-tangle your hair. If you do want to use a brush, use a paddle brush but make sure you never use it on wet hair.
